[PRESS RELEASE] – LANSING, Mich., Sept. 30, 2025 — The Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) announced a Order of consent and stipulation Cherry Industries LLC at 6387 E. Nevada St. Detroit has surrendered their Class C Grower License.
The CRA released a statement on April 3, 2024 following an investigation. Official complaint Cherry Industries LLC was cited for violating several provisions of the Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act (MRTMA) as well as its administrative rules. Cherry Industries LLC (AU-G-C000925), for violation of several Michigan Regulation and Taxation of Marihuana Act provisions and administrative rules.

During a routine check on November 15, 2023, CRA discovered that Cherry Industries LLC exceeded the legal limit of plants. CRA agents also discovered that many marijuana products including buds, pre-rolls and immature plants were not tagged or tracked by the state’s monitoring system. The review of the inventory revealed that there were serious tracking problems.

Cherry Industries LLC failed to explain large discrepancies between positive and adverse package adjustments. This amounted to thousands pounds of marijuana and thousands units. In the state monitoring system, more than 4,200 lbs of marijuana product was not present physically. More than 41,000 lbs of weight wet from 115 harvests also remained unaccounted for. Cherry Industries LLC was found to have improperly combined products of different harvests. They also transferred marijuana which had failed safety tests due to contamination by a prohibited pesticide and sold pre-rolls that were contaminated.

Other violations include improper sampling of batches, failing to allow full access to lab tests, and substantial failure to comply with the video surveillance requirements. The CRA allowed the respondent to submit surveillance footage with an extended deadline, but the footage was incomplete, lacking days of coverage, or hours long gaps.
The findings show that there are significant failings when it comes to regulatory compliance, tracking products, safety standards, and operational transparency.
Cherry Industries LLC agreed, in the consent order and stipulated terms, to surrender its license permanently (with effect 10 days from the effective date) and agreed it would not be renewed or reinstated.
