Cannabis Industry Urges Reform of Rescheduling with $1M Ad Blitz – MEDCAN24

New million-dollar ads funded by US cannabis companies are set to hit the streets of the US. They appear to be aimed at winning the favor of Donald Trump.

Political lobby group funds two 30-second TV ads American Rights and Reform PAC, Take aim at Trump’s favourite targets: former president Joe Biden, and Canada.

The first claims that ‘Joe Biden and the Democrats’ classified the medicine of ‘millions of Americans’ as a dangerous narcotic, ‘limiting their access to relief’.

Although this statement is inaccurate, cannabis was under Schedule I with heroin for many decades. It reinforces the story that cannabis supporters have, that Biden has failed to fulfill his promise on federal cannabis reform.

Again, clearly tailored to try and flatter Trump, the ad states that he is ‘fighting to make America healthy again’, and calls on voters to ask the President to ‘end Biden’s war on medical cannabis and put patients first.

The second claims that ‘Canada is attacking American cannabis companies’, suggesting that its current status as a schedule one prevents Americans from conducting research or being listed on the stock exchange ‘while Canadian companies cash in’.

This is an America first fight. The President had the guts to sign “white” to heal American patients. Let’s do it again. “Reschedule marijuana and put America First”.

The following is a list of CNN, Over the next few months, the PAC is spending more than one million dollars to air the two commercials on streaming and cable services, targeting Washington DC as well as West Palm Beach where Mar-a-Lago’s headquarters are located.

It also suggests that the PAC is funded by the cannabis industry, and is circulating a survey from Tony Fabrizio, Trump’s top pollster, appearing to demonstrate that there ‘is no significant political demographic group that doesn’t believe cannabis should be legal’.

It is not clear whether the ads can influence the President, but despite the rumors and speculations there are few concrete facts to support his position on this issue.

This isn’t factually correct, since cannabis and heroin have been in Schedule I for years. However, this reinforces the belief of many marijuana advocates that Biden failed to deliver on his promises of federal cannabis reform.
