Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development awarded businesses $3.6 million to help them enter Minnesota’s adult use cannabis industry and provide training for workers.
In the CanStartup program, CanTrain, the CanNavigate program, and the CanTrain grant programs of the state, 11 nonprofit organizations received grants from $100,000 up to $500,000. The programs were designed to provide job training and technical assistance as well as help with opening or expanding cannabis businesses in the state.
Matt Varilek of DEED said that adult-use cannabis is “exciting for businesses in the state and its workers.”
