MJBizCon 2025 returned to Las Vegas with a familiar sense of scale—and a noticeably different tone. Drawing more than 20,000 cannabis industry professionals from across the globe, the industry’s largest annual business conference once again underscored why it remains the most influential gathering in cannabis.
However, this year the atmosphere had changed. After years of rapid expansion, regulatory turbulence, and market corrections, MJBizCon felt more like a celebration than a conference. The operators, investors, brand managers and policymakers gathered to discuss fundamentals such as profitability, sustainability, and long-term development.
One Place to Find the Entire Cannabis Ecosystem
With 1,000+ exhibiting companies spanning massive exhibit halls, MJBizCon 2025 showcased the full breadth of the cannabis ecosystem. The show floor represented four core sectors—cultivation; processing and manufacturing; retail and dispensary operations; and business services and technology—illustrating just how sophisticated and interconnected the industry has become.
The exhibitors presented real solutions to an ever-increasingly competitive marketplace. They covered everything from automation and advanced cultivation platforms, to compliance platforms, product innovation and fintech.
An Industry that is More Measurable and Mature

Conversations were rooted in reality and practicality, even though booths looked striking. Both multi-state operators as well as legacy brands emphasized the importance of operational efficiency, margin protection and disciplined expansion over aggressive land acquisition.
The education sessions that followed this development reflected it. Most attended were panels addressing issues such as federal reforms, regulatory complexity in each state, capital access, and international market. The optimism about rescheduling was cautious. However, it was growing that small steps in banking and rescheduling reform are starting to yield tangible results.
Leadership Perspective: Why MJBizCon Matters
The realism of the participants and their resilience were evident all week. Emilie Lewis Senior Vice President at MJBiz said: “MJBizCon is the biggest annual cannabis gathering. It’s the one week each year when the entire ecosystem—operators, investors, innovators, policymakers and solution providers—comes together to move the industry forward. This community has shown incredible resilience despite the challenges. That’s why MJBizCon remains the largest, most professional and most influential event in the cannabis sector—it’s where the future of the industry is built, deal by deal and relationship by relationship.”
Brands Creating Experiences—Not Just Booths

Brands embraced creativity, connection and experience across the floor of Expo. Green Rebates stood out by transforming its booth into a destination rather than a stopover. From live-stitched custom hats to a mini-golf tournament dubbed the “MJ Open”—complete with exclusive “MJ Open Champion” Scotty Cameron putters—the company focused on making people feel welcome in an otherwise overwhelming environment.
Green Rebates shared that their main objective was to bring smiles to the faces of the industry’s wonderful workers. The MJBiz site can be overwhelming. So we encouraged people to stick around, enjoy some mini-golf with us, and take home a hat made just for them. Our mission was accomplished if the people left with lasting memories.
After two weeks, the team was still on “cloud 9” – a true testament to how experiential marketing works in a busy trade show.
Innovative Research and Intention
For Terpene Belt Farms, MJBizCon 2025 was about substance as much as style. The company used the show to release a new white paper detailing why cannabis-derived terpenes and botanical terpenes are not the same, while also debuting what they described as the first mood-modulating beverage formulated without hemp cannabinoids, powered by a novel cannabis-derived terpene blend.
“There was good value from MJBiz this year if you knew where to look, and our booth was one of those spots that was delivering,” said Hyrum Taylor, Marketing Director at Terpene Belt Farms. “The feedback on both was pretty incredible—better than you let yourself hope for when planning these kinds of things. This created an elevated, buzzy atmosphere and helped set the stage for the performance.
Taylor added that attendees returning multiple times for samples—and sharing drinks with friends and competitors alike—made it “the kind of show you want, and the show we had.”
The Pre-Roll category is advancing in technology
Innovation in hardware and products that enable innovation were also at the forefront. EFLO Vape reported strong interest in its E-Filter technology, particularly from MSOs and emerging brands seeking to enhance pre-rolls without disrupting existing workflows.
“What surprised us most was how quickly the value clicked once people saw it in action,” said Bailey Hannawa, Founder and CEO of EFLO LLC. As we enter year 2, EFLO will continue to develop a category of enhanced pre-rolls to make it easier for companies to enhance their offering.
MJBizCon confirmed both the market’s demand and its momentum for EFLO. This reinforced optimism about future pre-roll innovations that are performance-driven and infused.
Automated Signals the Next Step Forward
On the manufacturing side, Sorting Robotics highlighted the industry’s readiness for deeper automation. It reported strong interest in its Stardust robot for kief coating and its Telti robot that is designed to handle unstructured assemblies through automated decision making.
“MJBizCon showed the industry is ready for the next leap in automation,” said Barry Baughman, Marketing Manager at Sorting Robotics, noting nonstop demos and packed conversations with operators and executives. The event was both reaffirming and inspiring for Sorting Robotics, particularly as we prepare to see where cannabis automation goes in 2026.
Making Networking Purposeful
MJBizCon excelled in what really matters: meaningful connections. The networking was intentional, from curated investor events to the after-hours parties in Las Vegas.
Attendees weren’t just exchanging business cards—they were strengthening partnerships, closing deals, and laying groundwork for the year ahead.
The Future

MJBizCon 2020 didn’t promise instant reforms or quick wins. The conference provided a different perspective.
It is clear that the cannabis industry has grown up. This industry has matured, is adaptable and becoming increasingly strategic. As operators navigate tighter margins and evolving regulations, including this week’s rescheduling of cannabis as a Schedule III drug, MJBizCon continues to serve as a critical checkpoint—a place to recalibrate, collaborate and recommit to building a stronger industry.
Las Vegas conversations suggest that 2026 is about innovation, refinement and credibility over the long term. For an industry who has struggled to be taken serious, this milestone may be most significant.
