Florida bill seeks to allow limited cannabis home grows for registered patients – MEDCAN24

Michael Minardi is an attorney who specializes in cannabis law. He called the new legislation a “start” but said that two plants were not enough for a person to be able to supply themselves with enough, let alone multiple patients living together. 

The law requires that plants be grown in a closed, secured space. This is to ensure the safety of unauthorized people and anyone under the age of 21. Violations of the law can result in up to a year of jail time and fines of up to $1000. Department of Agriculture of the state would have to establish rules for homegrown cannabis certificates. This includes rules regarding inspections and registration of every cannabis plant.
