Marijuana Manicures Are Taking Ganja Glam to New Highs
Social media is flooded with nail art, including some of your own friends. Ganja glam meets the latest nail trends in a marijuana mani.

It’s not just you, but also your friends who are sporting nail art. The nail art is an expression of your personality and a salon manicure allows you to relax and enjoy the experience. With padded massage chairs, relaxing music and beautiful polishes to choose from, getting a manicure has become something I look forward to — and I felt this way even before I found an event that added marijuana to the routine. As soon as I saw Mani Pedi Oh So Heady on Instagram I was compelled to join the movement of marijuana manicures.
Tickets included either a manicure, a pedicure, or both. There was also a VIP ticket option, with a goodie-bag. A chic Beverly Hills spa was to host the manicures, and there would be a private party to attend before and after. The event was in Los Angeles, so I bought the tickets and booked a 6:30 pm manicure.
Three weeks later I entered the nail shop, checked in with a stylish woman, and received a lanyard with my manicure date written on it. The woman told me that I was free to walk the entire salon, dabbing freely as there were e-nails scattered among manicure stations. When it came time for my scheduled appointment, the nail technicians would find me. I started dabbing around and sampling samples at all of the booths. A California-based infused drink company, Habit, provided medicated fruit sodas to guests — and before I could finish a second flavor, it was time for my manicure.
Marijuana Manicures For Ganja Goddesses
The half hour appointment I had with my nail technician meant we wouldn’t do any acrylic or shaping. Instead, she’d start by using what I already had. When I told her what I really wanted — a full marijuana manicure, done while I was smoking marijuana — she was skeptical at first about whether or not she could get it done in the time crunch. In the end, we settled for a simple accent nail to be painted on both hands and a sparkling green color on all other nails. Bong Beauties donated their fabulous pot leaf charms and I picked two bold gold leaves for each hand.
The accent nails were created by grinding up a little less than one gram of herb that I had smoked earlier in the morning. My nail technician then placed some green crumbs, and beautiful orange hairs on my ring fingers. The nail artist sealed the cannabis with clear resin before adding the charms. I received dabs during my entire appointment, and was assisted throughout the process. My nails were perfect and we finished before time.
The rest of the night was spent getting to know the attendees of the event, including many women I had followed on social networks but never met in person. Some people commented on how relaxing the atmosphere was in the salon. It felt more like a social event than the traditional sales events we’ve attended. We parted with new nail polishes to remember the evening for at least a few weeks.
After returning home, I posted new pictures of my nails on Instagram using the hashtags #weedicure or #marijuanamanicure. The legalization of marijuana is spreading throughout the United States. I hope that events such as this will continue!
