Second Michigan cannabis recall in less than one month due to potentially contaminated vape cartridges – MEDCAN24

Michigan cannabis regulators issued another major product recall earlier today for 23,291 vape cartridges manufactured by Exhale Systems, just days before Michigan Gov. Snyder is set to sign into law new marijuana legislation that takes effect December 6.
Exhale has announced a voluntary recall involving Bloom Classic and Bloom Live products found to contain medium chain triglyceride oil contamination, according to a Tuesday press release issued by the state Cannabis Regulatory Agency.
Exhale is recalling 15 different flavors produced by them, such as:

Alien Jack’s Blue Dream: Cereal Milk and Champagne Kush by Durban Gelato; Face Off OG for Forbidden Fruit with Green Crack by Jack Herer, Maui Wowie Pineapple Express Pineapple Sherbert by Rainbow Runtz for Skywalker is just another option among many more to come!
White Widow
MLive.com reported that 18268 of these vapes have already been purchased by consumers; those remaining are being sent back to Exhale from around 120 retail locations where they still had stock available for return.
Consumer Response Agency has issued a release advising anyone in possession of an affected vape to return it directly to where it was purchased or to dispose of it safely.
MLive.com reported that this recall was initiated following an anonymous tip provided to Consumer Response Agency. New product testing regulations that went into effect this October spurred this recall process, according to MLive.com.
Bloom, which hails from California, made its entry to Michigan cannabis via Yield Distribution’s partnership in April 2017 according to Detroit Free Press reports.
Vitaly Mekk, Bloom co-founder and co-CEO told the Free Press he is grateful to CRA’s assistance throughout this matter and immediate corrective measures are underway including withdrawing affected product from shelves as soon as possible as well as adding third party testing protocols in place to guarantee safe products to their consumers.
This recall marks the second since October when new testing thresholds were set, according to The Free Press, after Platinum Vape cartridges were also recalled for having MCT oil on January 31.
