The Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices in Germany (BfArM), publishes quarterly data on medical cannabis imports and revises the totals initially reported. The quarterly totals reported in the past are often revised as new data is released. BfArM first reported Q1 2026 data in May.
BfArM has recently revised its Q1 2026 total to a record-breaking amount. BfArM reported that in Q1 of 2026, medical cannabis products from other countries were imported to Germany. This was a huge increase from initially reported 50.540 tonnes. The totals reported for Q3 of 2025 and Q3 of 2025 have also been revised, although only slightly.
Germany’s medical marijuana industry continues to grow at a rapid pace. These imports are on top of the domestically produced medical marijuana, which is also increasing each quarter. Germany’s cannabis industry exports cannabis to other nations, but the numbers are far less than those of imports. Here are the historical export totals, via BfArM.
