Trump’s Cannabis Reform Position Remains Mysterious as He Calls For Death Penalty While Appointing A Pardons Czar MEDCAN24

Trump’s inconsistent and confusing stance on drug reform is even more confusing now that the president has demanded the application of the death sentence to drug dealers.

Efforts to reschedule marijuana have fueled speculation in the cannabis industry, both domestically and globally, for months.

Initial optimism was sparked by Trump’s messages before the election, which suggested that he would be in favor of adult use legalization and rescheduling in Florida.

Since his inauguration in January, however, the rhetoric he has used and his choices for top-level positions that will have a significant impact on future reforms bills, make this a guess.

In a statement released on Friday, the President called for governors in the United States to implement the death penalty against drug dealers. His administration may be preparing to move to an increasingly conservative position with regard to drug regulation.

The White House is preparing to launch an anti-drug ad campaign across the country in order to discourage drug abuse.

Trump claimed that by citing countries such as China which has a strict drug policy and imposes capital punishment, there are fewer issues with drugs.

This move has been criticized by human rights activists and groups working on criminal justice reform. They claim that these policies have a disproportionate impact on minority communities, and do not address the causes of addiction.

Meanwhile, Trump also appointed Alice Johnson, a formerly incarcerated woman whose drug-related life sentence he commuted in 2018, as his ‘pardons czar’.

The announcement of this appointment during an event celebrating Black History Month is in sharp contrast with his calls for the death sentence.

Trump thanked Johnson and told a large crowd she’d help him identify drug offenders who were nonviolent.
