Available in 2026
Vertanical Dr Merit Renner Senior Manager, Business Development and Katharina castlunger colleague, in e-mail conversations with MEDCAN24, outlined their ambitions.
In 2026, the German market is anticipated to have VER-01. By using the reciprocal recognition process, we intend to expand into other countries such as the UK.
“We’re confident that VER-01 is going to be approved for sale and prescribed by doctors.”
Vertanical, founded by Clemens Fichter, founder of Futrue Group based in Munich with a portfolio that includes around 20 companies operating within the OTC and Supplement space, was launched on April 1, 2008.
Its medical cannabis cultivation site and pharmaceutical manufacturing plant are in Denmark, and after passing the Phase 3 German trial, featuring 800 patients, it anticipates securing market approval next year.
The trials conducted so far on patients who suffer from chronic low back pain have been very promising. Vertanical said MEDCAN24 that patients experienced ‘mild to moderate side-effects such as dizziness or dry mouth in the initial phase’ before these ‘tapered off’, with no evidence of addiction.
Forbes interviewed Mr Fischer and he said, “We think that we’ll be the first non opiate chronic pain treatment in the world.”
You can gain a substantial share of this market if you are able to show that your drug is more efficient and has less side effects. “I don’t intend to make any predictions, but I can tell you that the market is massive and that there are no opioids available in the world as a replacement.”
Ver-01 has more than a hundred compounds, including a variety of cannabinoids. These include low amounts of THC CBD, and CGN.
